2023 Ram 3500 Limited Longhorn6.7 HO Cummins
the Denali thread made me want to post mine, but mine went the opposite way. i never bid.
2023 Ram 3500 Limited Longhorn, crew cab, 6.4 foot bed, single rear wheel, 4x4, the 6.7 high output Cummins with the Aisin 6-speed. Ivory White with the brown and black Longhorn interior. 26,700 miles. bank repo at a lender yard in San Antonio, listed on the m&a auction in May.
the listing had a sealed bid and also a Buy Now of $66,500. i hit Buy Now.
why: we pull a Grand Design Solitude 390RK, a little over 15,000 lbs, and i'd been doing it with a 2020 F-250 Platinum that was always at the edge of payload. i sold the Ford privately for $49,000 and needed a one ton before our September trip to Ruidoso. the cheapest 2023 Limited Longhorn 3500 HO i could find at a dealer in DFW was $71,995 plus a $150 doc and a $2,495 addendum they wouldn't take off. i didn't want to bid 62 and lose it and start over with six weeks to go.
delivery was free, San Antonio to Plano is under 300 miles. 12 days from wire to driveway.

2021 F-350 Platinum SRW6.7, 16k lb fifth wheel
the HO with the Aisin is the right setup for a 390RK, that's a heavy pin. check the payload on the door sticker with the hitch in. Longhorns carry a lot of weight in the seats and sound deadening, so a 3500 Longhorn has less payload than a Tradesman with the same engine. but a 3500 SRW should still clear a 3,000 lb pin with room.

2022 F-250 King Ranch6.7 Power Stroke
you'll notice i'm not arguing this one. with Buy Now you knew the price before you were in, nobody bid against a ghost. $66,500 for a 23 Limited Longhorn 3500 HO with 27k is under where i'd expect it in Texas.
so what was wrong with it? something always is.

2023 Ram 3500 Limited Longhorn6.7 HO Cummins
two things, both small.
one of the cab roof clearance lights had a cracked lens, probably a branch at the lender yard. Mopar part was $38 and two screws. that's it for the truck.
the other is on me. Buy Now has a payment window and i went to send the wire on a Friday afternoon. my bank's wire cutoff is 2 pm, i got there at 2:40, so it went Monday and i spent the weekend thinking somebody else might get it. it didn't work that way, the lot was locked once i hit the button, but nobody had told me that in plain words until i called Monday. my bank also charged $30 for the wire.
the m&a people did send a cold start video when i asked, idle with the hood up and the Cummins clatter, about two minutes. that's the closest i got to a test drive. title was a Texas title from the lender with the lien release, Collin County tag office took it with no questions.

2021 F-150 Lariat5.0 V8, shopping
how does the Limited Longhorn cabin compare to the Denali or King Ranch, if you've sat in them? i'm cross shopping all three now and the Ram might be the one i haven't driven.

new here, been reading the Denali thread and this one. how do you decide between Buy Now and bidding under it? if the Buy Now is 66,500, wouldn't you bid 62 and see what happens?
i'm looking at a 2023 F-150 Platinum on M and A right now and i have no idea how to set my number. first truck i've ever wanted that wasn't a work truck.

2023 Ram 3500 Limited Longhorn6.7 HO Cummins
lariat: the Longhorn interior is more western than the King Ranch and quieter than i expected for a Cummins. the Denali is still the nicest dash of the three, the Ram has the better rear seat. sit in all three.
tom: the way i thought about it, the cheapest dealer out the door was about $74,600. Buy Now was $66,500. that's eight grand under the dealer already. if i bid 62 and lost, i'd be four and a half grand "ahead" on paper and still with no truck and a camper reservation in Ruidoso. losing costs something too, it just doesn't show up on an invoice.
start your own thread with the actual numbers off your listing. people here will help you set it.
